asher's favorite thing to do lately is to sit on the back of the chair and watch out the window. just to see who's going by, what the squirrels are doing, to watch the world around him. his little feet are always dangling and as he finishes his observations they reach for the floor and the next adventure. though sitting on the back of the chair is not something we encourage i have to be honest my heart will be a little sad when his feet are big enough to reach the ground without trying and he's too big to sit on the back of the chair and watch the world.
couldn't resist this reaching moment yesterday. asher, arms outstretched, is waiting to catch his sister and little brother as they come down the slide. this is actually how eli learned to do the slide. asher took him back there, up they went, then asher patiently waited at the bottom to "catch" eli on his way down. i'm not sure who was more excited about this achievement. asher was so proud he had helped eli and taught him a brave new adventure. they had to show me over and over and over.
the littlest one, reaching from the inside. my hand, reaching from the outside. do you feel my love through my touch? as we reach for each other ... before we have even laid eyes on each other.
