yep, that's it.  dead.  as i d.e.a.d.  my computer totally died.  as in will not turn on.  as in will not do anything.  as in has all my pictures from the last 2 years and will not let them out.  yes, we backed them up on an external hard drive.  buuuut, when we went to check the hard drive they were gone.  oh, oh, oh my heart.  we are going to see if they can be recovered but we are not sure where the price tag will fall.  slowly we are finding out that there are some other pictures.  we found copies of ethan's birth pictures.{hooray!!} and some other so not all are gone but oh, oh, oh my heart.  so sad.

so thankfully there were still some left on the camera so here's what we have been up to for the past little bit while my computer is so very, very ill ....

we got to see how maple syrup was made

we got to cheer on papa at his swim meet

we got to play outside {while the weather was nice for a little while}

what a pose
such a big boy already
is he not the cutest?
go eli go

we got to revisit the '80s   =)

there is more to say.  there is more to update.  they will have to wait for another time.  i am back at work for the week.  all the littles are sick.  all of them.  poor little ethan has a double ear infection and a yucky yellow infection in both his eyes.  poor little mister.  he has been snuggly and weepy and so, so, in need of lovin.  the others are sniffly and just wanting a few movie marathons.  oh my heart ... to have to go to work tomorrow.  hooray for a wonderful husband. =)  updates coming soon!

chickenpox boy

yep, it's true.  the chickenpox have arrived at our little house.  he had a few little small spots on sunday but they looked alot like ones he gets alot.  he has really sensitive skin.  well he woke up this morning looking like a polka dot child.  little red spots all over him even on his face.  no other real symptoms though.  then midway through the morning the itching started.  pretty sure it's the chickenpox.  oh yes i am.  so thankful for aveeno baths and how well they stop the itching and made those red spots not look so angry.

so here is what it looks like after the bath.  almost hard to see right??  but i promise you they are all over his little arms, legs and that cute little toddler belly.  but he's not slowed down one bit.  oh no he's not.  and after a busy day he and his siblings are all sound asleep in the tent in the boys room.  yep, we had a sleepover.  why not?  the two big kids have already had it.  so play on little man and the tub is ready when you need it.

too sweet

yesterday was an amazing day with God.
full of freedom, full of His truth, full of Him and His love.
breaking me free from lies
drawing me closer to Him
illuminating the path He wants me on

today was long
tired children
testing, testing, testing
but still full of Him
His promises, His presence

and then as i go to bed tonight i spy this
left for me last night
outside my door
by my daughter
{long after she should have been in bed}
because i wasn't feeling very well
and on my nightstand tonight
{i hop you ur felen bedre}
and i smile at the caring
the cute
the love that lives here
even when the day is long

love list

okay so today i did not feel good.  not terrible ... just not good.  run down, tired, yuck.  it got better as the day wore on. i rested on the couch while my littles played around me. we read...alot.  we snuggled and talked and read some more.  i did not get out the camera.  i did not even contemplate my to-do list.  i did not clean anything up - not even the kitchen.  and it was a great day.  as i tucked them all into bed tonight and said prayers i thought of all the little things that i am so thankful for.  the little things that make me love my life.

my love list

my husband is my best friend and the most amazing man i know
he supports me always and loves me perfectly
ethan is an ambidextrous thumb sucker - which ever one is closer is fine
he puts himself to sleep by "talking" around his thumb (adorable)
the way he crinkles up his whole face to grin
what an amazing help my sweet mia always is
the songs she loves to sing and make-up
how she still loves to snuggle up in my lap (oh that this would last)
asher's imagination
his tender, loving, compassionate heart that is always ready to take care of me
his little grin that means a bigger one or a giggle is coming
eli's fierce hugs
the way his giggle makes you giggle too
his crazy blond hair that rarely lays straight
the moments when somehow they are each snuggled up with me all together
and we are one big pile of family

our day in pictures

so i have seen this a few times and have a friend that does this great (if you don't read her you totally should.  she's amazing.  check her out here).  just thought it might be fun to try. we'll see how it goes.  so far it's 9 am and this has been our day ...
had to make some funny faces

oh i love those eyes!

and now to the library for asher's library program ... and maybe to the grocery store.  we'll see how it all goes.  the grocery store may end up getting scrapped. see you in a bit.

12:03 - we're back home. fun times at the library.  oh my.  we have not been there in a while and i think we tried to bring the entire children's department home with us. =)  we are definitely in for a lot of reading ... which i love so all is good.  so while asher was at his little program mia and eli did this ..

and sweet little ethan did this ...
isn't he just so sweet?  i love his little hat.  it's my fav.  all the boys have looked so cute in it.  can't believe he already fits in it and that asher soooo does not.  anyways ... after making his bagel bird feeder asher needed to make his selections.

we did attempt the grocery store.  bad choice mom.  we got through some of the store but eli decided that the wide open aisles were just too tempting and they became running lanes for him.  bummer.  into the cart he went and the periodic crying began.  he does NOT like to be in there now.  he's a big boy remember.  so as quickly as i could we got the essentials and left but oh was he just having a hard time.  i was very blessed though.  usually when that happens you get the "look" from other people in the store.  today - nope - got lots of encouragement, smiles and attempts to make him smile.  it was so nice to have such nice people around.  well i'm off to eat this for lunch.  see you soon.
my fav - cranberry, feta salad.  yummy!
1:40 - the two littlest are doing this and the big kids and are about to do school.  love that the littles are thumb suckers.  i know i'll pay for it later as we try to break the habit but it's just so stinkin' cute!

3:35 - school is over.  how do you teach a child that perfection is not the goal, that hard work and continuing to try are the most important things?  to instill in her every day that she is amazing - even if her letters don't always look exactly like mine. (and ps. i am not a fan of d'nealian letters just so you know.  all the districts around here use it so we are trying to and it's just not fun!)so we are supposed to be headed to a friend's house to play right now but eli still looks like this.  thankfully they are understanding and wonderful and won't mind if we let him sleep.

i made chocolate peanut butter brownies to take with us.  think we'll be forgiven for being late? =)

10:30 - so i really thought i was done with pictures and this post but asher just came in to my room and this is what he had on.  is he not the cutest thing ever??  and yep, he was totally sweaty and totally didn't care.  he went right back to bed with it still on his head.
